Drone Racing & Freestyle FPV Pilot / Freelance Photographer
As you might have guessed, I get involved in Drone Racing with local groups and attend Race Events, I also like to photograph where I'm flying, and the other pilots too. There are so many people with different flying styles and model drones out there, no two Pilots and equipment are the same.
With the edition that everyone has a story to tell... I'm just begining mine.
Drone Racing is a sport where Pilots will wear a set of FPV Goggles to view a transmission sent out from a Video Transmitter (VTX) to see where they are flying around the race track or the area they may be flying freestyle in. Freestyle flying is combining power loops, flips & rolls, creating smooth lines in the sky, and hitting those gaps (not literally).
Drones come in so many different shapes and sizes, with so many varying combinations of parts. If you would like to understand more about building your own drone, please follow this link and I'll share my experience of building drones.
Drone Racing and Freestyle Flying can be a lot of fun, but you must make sure you follow the rules and regulations in your country for flying Drones / UAV's. I've linked the Drone Code Guide
here.
Technically speaking there is a threshold of 400ft ... follow the drone code.
